This week has been a roller-coaster. It didn't start out well. On Monday, Madeline was in a car accident. Luckily, no one was injured but still, there's a ticket and financial damage. Tuesday was looking up, I had a pedicure and an adjustment/massage that made me feel like brand new [my back has been bugging me again.] Then Wednesday was filled with the little life stresses that seem to wipe you out and by yesterday I was feeling exhausted, but I trudged on through the day and cleaned my bedroom, went to a rainy softball game and then came home to a flooded basement. Such a mess. Anyways, I've learned that the best way to feel good when things aren't great is to count my blessings. So here goes my grateful list:
+ I am so very grateful that Madeline and the person in the other vehicle were not injured. This is a very real blessing.
+ My back has been acting up the last couple of weeks and while it's not terrible, it's kind of annoying and I want to work really hard to get my body stronger and in better shape. Enter Healing Yoga. I found a Netflix video of Healing Yoga for Aches and Pains and I am a converted fan. It's slightly cheesy, but after just one session, my back was feeling a significant improvement and with each session, it's just improved more and more. I love it. I'm going to be trying out more yoga videos soon.
+ My children. Last night they stepped up and help me get the basement cleaned up and cleared out. They did everything I asked them. I am grateful for such awesome kids.
+ Helpful church friends. Brandon is out of town and so he wasn't here to help me with the basement so I called a couple of guys from our church and they came over, brought a wet vac and helped me move the heavy furniture, vacuum up water and pull back the carpet. So grateful for them and their willingness to drop whatever they were doing and come help me.
+ Spring weather. Out my front window right now, Spring is very evident in the blooming trees, the emerging perennials, and the new lime green plant growth. It's beautiful and reminds me to be happy and grateful. This weekend is forecasted to be GOR-GEOUS with highs in the high 70's and low 80's. We've got softball games and work to do and wonderful weather to do it in.
What are you grateful for today?
