Best Chocolate Chip Cookies
I think I'm a bit of a cookie snob. I like my cookies a tiny bit crispy on the bottom, with a hint of golden brown on the top but perfectly soft and gooey inside. This Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe always delivers for me and it never fails that every time I take these anywhere, I am asked for the recipe. It's the same recipe my mother has used since I was small and my recipe card calls these "Mrs. Fields cookies", but who knows if it's the authentic recipe for the famous cookies. I just know it's the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies I've ever tried.
Best Chocolate Chip Cookies
Bake at 375° for 8-10 minutes [until slightly golden]
Servings: 4-5 dozen small cookies
1 cup butter, room temperature
1 cup brown sugar, packed
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 cups flour
1 tsp. kosher salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1. Heat oven to 375°. In your electric mixer, beat butter and both sugars well. Add eggs and vanilla.
2. In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt and baking soda. Use a whisk to mix together.
3. Slowly add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients in the mixer. On lowest level mix until all flour has been added and then increase speed and beat for 2 minutes.
4. Remove mixing bowl from stand and add in chocolate chips, stirring by hand.
5. Using your hands, roll dough into 1 inch balls and place 2 inches apart on parchment lined baking sheets.
6. Bake for 8-10 minutes until the tops are lightly golden. Cool and enjoy with a glass of milk.
**When I am short on time, I just press all the dough into a 11x17 baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes and then cut into bars. They turn out soft and gooey with a perfect crispy golden top every time!
Hope you enjoy them!
