Letters from last night...

Dear Brandi Carlile,

You really rocked the Knitting Factory last night in Spokane. The kind of raw talent that you have is exactly what I expect when I go to a concert. You sounded better live than you do on your albums, which is pretty amazing. And your opening song, "Oh Dear"... that was magical. And your completely, 100% unplugged "Dying Day" was #1 on my list of "What I hope Brandi sings." I look forward to hearing you live again someday.

Loves,
Marilyn

Dear Brandon,

Thanks for going to the concert with me last night. I know that these concerts aren't really your cup of tea, but it was fun to be there with you. Thanks for being blown away by Brandi's amazing voice. Thanks for being patient with the rude people around us. I love you!

Loves,
Marilyn

Dear rude people around us,

When you go to a concert, please be aware of the people around you. Your dancing in a crowded space meant repeated elbow blows to our backs and it didn't feel good!

Annoyed,
Marilyn

Dear Mitch,

Thanks for meeting us for dinner. I enjoyed hearing about your new experiences as a student. Thanks for "enlightening" us with Plato's [crazy] theories.

Loves,
Marilyn

Dear Lindsay,

I missed you, and wished you could have been there. Next time, next time. Get better soon.

Loves,
Marilyn

Dear readers,

If you ever get the chance to see Brandi Carlile live, DO IT!

Loves,
Marilyn
