Wow! I can't believe it's been one week since I've posted. Between a busy schedule, homeschooling, and Madeline needing the computer between the hours of 8am and 3pm...there has been little time to blog. And I've missed you all!
Today, I have a
bunch of new music to shout about. Shout! Because it's sooooo good. You've just got to check out these artists.
July Flame - Laura Veirs. I've purchased a couple of songs from Laura's previous albums but never have really fallen in love with them. This time it's different. This album is amazing and if you love alternative folk, please give her a
listen.
Love & War - Daniel Merriweather. I first heard about Daniel Merriweather when I read that on his new album there is a duet with Adele, and I really. heart. Adele. And I really am anxious for new Adele music. However, this album isn't available in the U.S. yet. But with the wonderful world wide web, there is no need to wait for it to release here. I found the album
here, one of my favorite places to find music. Oh, and this Daniel Merriweather? He is amazing. Listen
here.
Decievers Are Achievers - Tristen. A very new, up + coming artist that I am super excited about. I love this little 5 song album. Especially the song "Wicked Heart."
Check her out!
Unbroken - Katharine McPhee. Yes, the same Kat McPhee that caused "McPheever" on American Idol. I loved her first album and thought it was under appreciated. Hopefully she gets the recognition she deserves because this girl can sing. I absolutely love love love track 12 called "Lifetime." It's the kind of song I can't get out of my head. Listen
here.
The movie Adam, starring Hugh Dancy + Rose Byrne. I rarely recommend movies because we have a
Clearplay and watch movies edited to remove language and questionable scenes, and since most movies nowadays contain filth and garbage, I hesitate to recommend them. But this one is a keeper. It's rated PG-13 and has some mature content warnings, but Brandon and I watched it edited and absolutely loved the movie. Okay, I loved it, he managed to stay awake, which is actually saying a LOT. I liked this movie
even more than 500 Days of Summer, which we also watched recently.
There's my shout out for the day.
Have you heard any great new music,
or seen any good movies lately?
Do tell!
