Outside my window...
it is a grey and chilly morning, but the weatherman has promised sunny skies and 54 degrees today. I am hoping to get a run in this afternoon.
I am thinking...
about the opportunity I learned about last night at New Beginnings. The Young Women's President said that they are encouraging mothers to work on Personal Progress with their daughters and that they can earn the Young Women's medallion as well. I am so excited about this because I was neglectful in my youth, and didn't finish my Personal Progress. It is one of my biggest regrets, but now I have the opportunity to work on it along side my girls and I think it will be a great experience for the three of us. (*** I included links in case anyone was wondering what I am talking about, hopefully that will help you understand this paragraph a little better.)
I am thankful...
to live in such a beautiful place. I think this state is gorgeous. As I drove from here to Seattle and back twice in the last week, I was reminded of what a beautiful state we live in. We have this beautiful, dry valley, with rolling hills and wide open agricultural spaces and in contrast, the gorgeous Cascade mountains and wet, green Seattle area. I love both, and having the opportunity to drive across the state reminded me of what a blessing it is to live here.
Today I am going to...
- work in Lily's class
- pop popcorn for the PTO
- take Madeline to get a haircut
- Jocelyn's last school basketball game
- pick up Brandon's developed pictures
the February and March Ensign. I have some catching up to do before General Conference is here.
In the kitchen...
I smell the delicious aroma of lillies in bloom. The arrangement that Brandon sent me for Valentines Day has 11 gigantic, delicious smelling, lillies. There are other flowers in there too, but these lillies are so fragrant that my entire kitchen area smells amazing.
I am hoping...
to get dinner made tonight. It will be a near miracle if it happens today.
I am hearing...
"Keep Breathing" by Ingrid Michaelson. Such a pretty pretty song. Listen.
One of my favorite things...
is my new Roman Holiday bracelet from this Etsy shop. I. LOVE. IT!
I must remember...
this incident from the weekend. Brandon was gone for almost a week, pretty much the longest he has ever been away from Lily. She was missing him pretty bad and so one evening while he was gone she drew a couple of pictures to give to him when he returned home. One was a picture of a giant heart with a big crack down the middle of it. At the top she wrote, "My heart is broken." I asked her why and she said "Because I miss daddy." Awwww, what a sweetheart she is. Then she drew a picture of herself with tears streaming down her face, and at the top she wrote "Please come home daddy." Needless to say she was a happy little girl when her daddy came home.
