Whew!

Our 24th celebration was a huge success. We had about 150 people attend our event and we celebrated our pioneer heritage. We ate hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob. We drank homemade root beer and devoured pies and desserts. We enjoyed pioneer stories and sang the pioneer hymn, "Come, Come Ye Saints." We had a wonderful time. Here are a few pictures from the celebration...

Decorations were simple. Quilts and flower arrangements. The flowers all came from my mom's yard, and they were beautiful. Thanks mom.

After dinner, the competitions began. The pie eating contest was a big hit.

Nail pounding competitions were fierce.

The arm wrestling event went clear into the night.

Planning this party was intense, but watching our ward enjoy the festivities made it worth it. I am so grateful for our pioneer heritage and the faith they exemplified which strengthens us. Like the hymn says,

"Do this and joy, your hearts will swell, All is well! All is well!"

Happy Weekend!

P.S. We are off to beautiful Mt. Rainier for one of Brandon's races, and we are looking forward to some relaxing family time in the beautiful mountains!
