Hooray!

So I'm back from the cannery (which was my very first experience there, and I loved it!) and I came home and checked my e-mail...and guess what I found???

An e-mail directing me to find out who the winner was of a blog weight loss contest I joined in April. I read the success stories including my own, and then Angie showed the name pulled from the hat...and it was my name! I am so excited to get the awesome winners package.

It's halfway through the year and in January I wrote about getting my life in control. I feel great about where I am at and feel hopeful about getting where I want to be in December. I still have a lot of work to do, but I'm getting there. I can do hard things.

Here's the success story I submitted to Angie for the results...I'm pleased with my progress!

Thanks for the prodding...I needed it. I have had amazing success since starting this journey. In total, since January I've lost 25 lbs and 25.5 inches. But since your contest began, I saw the real success start to happen. That was when I started working out more and eating better and really changing the way I thought about food and exercise. It doesn't seem so impossible to me anymore. I know I can do this.

Since your contest started I've lost 14 lbs and 17.5 inches. I still have a ways to go to get to my goal, but I feel great, I'm fitting into clothes I haven't worn in years and shopping at stores I haven't been able to shop at in...a very very long time. I am also so excited to have lost that blasted double chin!

For the first time ever, I can see the light at the end of this overweight tunnel I've been in. I am happy, energetic, confident and loving life. Thanks for the encouragement along the way...you're a gem!

Even though this summer has been challenging for me to make it to the gym on a regular basis or to keep posting on the other blog, I feel like I've gained control over this area of my life and I finally realize what it takes to experience success...it takes hard work and patience.

P.S. For those of you who have been asking...I loved the Emma Smith movie and was so very pleased to find out that it's the same actors and actresses from the Joseph Smith movie at Temple Square. I loved the movie, and highly recommend it...be sure to bring a tissue!
