I finished the Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom last week and watched the movie last night. I highly recommend the book. The movie? Not so much. The book is so much better. Isn't that always the case? If you do watch the movie, make sure you read the book first, because they leave a lot of important things out of the movie.
The book takes it's name from the scripture in Psalms which says
"Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word."
Though the Ten Boom family faced the hardest of hardships, their faith in Christ was strong beyond belief. The overpowering message that the Ten Booms learned while at Nazi concentration camps is this, that
"There is no pit so deep that God’s love is not deeper still"
and
"God will give us His love to be able to forgive our enemies"
Those two powerful statements will stay with me forever. Be sure to add The Hiding Place to your must read list.
