The Rundown

Life's been more than busy for me this month of May. Here's a rundown.

American Idol:

It all began in January when I religiously watched horrible singer after horrible singer audition for the wonder that is American Idol. Occasionally an incredibly talented youngster would give me that glimmer of hope that another successful idol would be chosen. The top 24, the top 12. Every Tuesday and Wednesday, for weeks and weeks and weeks. I watched and watched and watched. The top 6, yay, Sanjaya's gone. The top 4. 3. 2. Tuesday's final performances. Awesome. Who will win? DVR, I love you. Wednesday night. The show is awesome. Top 6 guys in white suits singing a cappella. Amazing. Gladys Knight. Carrie Underwood. Kelly Clarkson. Where is Katharine McPhee? Sergeant Pepper Tribute. Incredible. Seacrest says a record 74 million votes came in and now the final results.....

The End.

I hate you DVR!

My daughters, Madeline and Jocelyn, both are aspiring to be politicians apparently. They are both running for office in their middle school.
One little problem.
They are running against each other.
For the same position.
Yesterday they gave their speeches. After they were both finished speeching, I leaned over to another parent and whispered,
"I'm just glad I don't have to vote!"

Field Trip:
4.5 hours
80+ 2nd graders
hot, muggy school bus
a pioneer fort
cottonwood trees in bloom
hay fever
no allergy medicine
silly jokes from little boys
sack lunch
trouble makers

can something be miserable and fun at the same time?

I had no idea it would be this much work and worry. And I haven't even done near as much as Danyelle, Kristen and Jenn. Many, many people are helping. Thank you! I really hope people come to this auction to buy some awesome, generously donated things. Please tell people about it and please come. Dave and Catherine deserve all we can do for them.
Daniel's Auction
June 1st, 7:00pm

the Nursery:
We are closing our retail nursery and are having a 75% off sale. Everything. Trees, shrubs, perennials. If you desire very cheap landscaping products, now's your chance!

The girls are both playing softball again this year, but on different teams. This means there are 2-3 games a week and 2-3 practices a week. What the h-e-double-hockey sticks was I thinking??!!??

Cub scouts, birthday parties, presidency meetings, baby showers, BBQ's, band concerts.........

(Please don't read sarcasm into that. I really do mean it. Staying busy. I love my life.)

If you didn't already know, my sister in law Nancie started a blog FINALLY! Hopefully she will update more frequently than Mitch. But check her out over at Hick Town. (absolutely perfect title Nan, so glad you didn't go with White Trash!)
