The last few months my family has really struggled to have regular family prayer and scripture study. We seem to do better when school is in session, and then when summer hits and we aren't waking up early, and Brandon is busier, we slack off. It makes a very noticeable difference in the spirit of our home (of course), and in the way we parent our children. But now, we are back on track and it feels SO good.
Why is it that the things which are most important to do are sometimes the hardest? It is easier to sleep in, it is easier to put the kids to bed without saying prayer, and so on.
We know what will make us happy and yet, sometimes we choose to do the opposite. I get so frustrated with myself.
What has worked for you in having family prayer and scripture study? How do you handle frustration when you fail at something?
